Urban Alliance Foundation

The Oasis Foundation sponsored two interns through the Urban Alliance Foundation for the 2009 - 2010 school year.  The students served at the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) with the help of Oasis Foundation coordination, thus meeting both the Foundation's objective to build a stronger educational community for young people in DC and its objective to grow cultural ties between the United Arab Emirates and the United States.

For the 2010 - 2011 school year, Oasis is proud to partner once again with the Urban Alliance Foundation in sponsoring two interns, one at the ADC and one at the Latin American Youth Center (LAYC).

Urban Alliance's mission is to prepare young adults from under-resourced neighborhoods in Washington, DC for the world of work and a life of self-sufficiency through education, mentoring, and meaningful paid internships.  By combining internships with social support, life-skills training, and financial literacy, Urban Alliance has witnessed a positive effect on high school graduation and college enrollment rates:  100% high school graduation rate (versus 43% of their DC peers).
